Forget the former things

Many of us today are still living in the past. We tend to dwell on our past lives, past mistakes, disappointments, past relationships that went bad, awful experiences etc. The burden of these past occurrences tend to weigh us down thus making us bitter to the extent that it affects our future and present lives as well as our attitudes towards people.Irrespective of what has happened to us in the past, we have to move on to the next level. Develop better instead of bitter ways of lives.
disappointed?

God wants us to do away with our past experiences for Him to do new things in our lives. In Isaiah 43; 18-19 God says “Forget the former things do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the waste land.” This is God speaking to you and I. Though it is not that easy to remove ugly incidences from our minds, yet God says to forget everything and concentrate on the new things He is doing. He has the power to replenish that which the cankerworm of bitter experiences has eaten so, why won’t we listen and do as God says? God is ever Faithful and HIS WORDS CANNOT RETURN BACK TO HIM EMPTY WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING THAT WHICH IT IS MEANT TO DO. As we Listen and yield to His Words, He will surely do more than just a new thing but new things in our lives in Jesus Name, Amen.

How far can we trust God?

Trust has to do with unwavering belief in someone or something. When you trust your friend, spouse or anyone it means in your mind that person can not go wrong. You so much believe in what he or she says and stands for. We put our hearts and minds so much in trusting mortal men that are prone to mistakes that many atimes when we encounter disappointments from such people our hearts ache and our emotions shatter.
on the money!

But wait a minute, we have a God that never fails, He never disappoints and the question is, if we can trust a man who is capable of failing how much can we trust OUR MAKER GOD ALMIGHTY WHO IS EVER FAITHFUL? Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your hearts. Lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” The Word of God says to trust Him with all our hearts. That’s how much God wants us to trust HIM. And when we do this there is a promise attached to it. HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.” Do you want the Lord to direct your path? Then always trust Him with all your heart, make Him your confidant. Before you take any decision, enquire from God first. Always put Him first in all you do and He will take over all that concerns you.

Grumble not

In Exodus 15: 1-18 the Israelites gave an awesome rendition and exaltation to the Most High God for saving them from the Egyptians. In vs. 21 the women of Israel joined Prophetess Miriam in praising God for delivering them from Pharaoh and his army. Shortly after in vs. 24 the people of Israel grumbled against Moses asking "What are we to drink?” Exodus 17:3 recorded “The people thirst for water there and they grumbled against Moses. They said “why did you bring us out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

One would have thought that seeing and experiencing all the miraculous things that God did to bring them out of Egypt and saving them from Pharaoh and his army would have ensured firm faith and immovable trust in God Almighty who can do all things. But they kept grumbling and complaining just like we do from time to time.

The question for us today is—why grumble? Why do we complain when we experience difficulties and set backs? We beam up to God when our expectations are met and complain and grumble if the reverse happens. We ought to learn to trust God at all times. In good and in bad times, learn to trust God. He is God in good times and remains God in bad times. HE IS SAME ALWAYS HE NERVER CHANGES. GOD IS ALMIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL, HE ALONE CAN DO ALL THINGS. EVERYTHING THAT IS WONDERFUL IS OUR GOD’S ATTRIBUTE. He has power to bring goodness to us and also has the power to change bad situations to good. OUR GOD IS THE GREAT PROVIDER.

Anytime we come to a cross road instead of grumbling and complaining, we should praise God and HE WILL SURELY TAKE CARE OF OUR SITUATION. Grumble not dear brothers and sisters for God is always in control.

Be Still

Psalm 46:1 says “God is our refuge and strength an ever present help in trouble.”
be still and know I am God

Many a time we try to fight life battles by ourselves. We struggle so hard to overcome difficult situations in our homes, places of work, social lives, health even in our religious settings. We tend to forget we didn’t create ourselves and that we have a God who made us, watches over us and who can do all things. Verse 10 of psalm 46 says “Be still and know that I am God.” Whatever be the case God says ‘BE STILL.’ Why? Vs 11 “For the Lord almighty is with us the God of Jacob is our refuge.” Tell me, what more can we ask for? Isn’t this a great assurance?

When God Speaks

God is so faithful and the Bible made it clear that His words cannot return void to Him without accomplishing that which it’s meant to accomplish. On many occasions in the Bible that God spoke marvelous things happened.

In Genesis 1:3 the Bible recorded this: And God said “Let there be light” and there was light. Verse
let there be light
6 says: And God said “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water”. The Bible recorded in verse 7b that it came to pass. Isn’t that awesome. It is a very encouraging thing to know that we have a God who can speak into our situations and things start happening.

A number of instances abound in the Bible, situations and conditions that seemed so difficult and impossible but each time God speaks, changes occur. Impossibilities became possibilities and uncommon miracles took place.

God said to Abraham in Genesis 18:10 “I will surely return to you about this time next year and Sarah your wife will have a son”. Sarah laughed and laughed when she overheard this yet God fulfilled His Words because He does not make empty promises.

What is that situation in your life that seems so impossible? Do you have any problem that seems so difficult to solve? All you need do is leave it in God’s hands. Allow Him to speak to your situation and be still and see what the Lord can do.

Hands of God

His palms

The last statement Jesus made before He died is “Father into thy hand I commend my Spirit” Luke 23:46. Jesus knows GOD is all powerful and ALMIGHTY and that whatsoever is put in His HANDS is very safe and sound. HE alone can make things anew, He alone can do all things, and HE AND ONLY HE alone can make impossibilities be possible. God is AN UNCHANGEABLE CHANGER. A song writer wrote thus:

In the hollow of HIS Hands, In the hollow of HIS Hands
I am saved whatsoever may betide me in the hollow of HIS hands.

It is such a great assurance and relief to know that GOD’S Hands are wide enough as to contain all of us our problems inclusive. What a great relief it will be for us to hand over our concerns and problems to GOD as the Bible says “casting your cares on HIM for HE careth for you.”
